How We Do It

Dedicated national staff (41 in total) and a team of four expatriates enable The MENTOR Initiative to successfully implement its activities in Angola. Through close collaboration with the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) and other national and international partners committed to implementing malaria control activities, The MENTOR Initiative is playing a vital role in the formulation of national control policies and protocols.
At the provincial level, capacity building of public and private healthcare staff and the comprehensive involvement of community members in prevention activities relies on co-participation from local NMCP officials and local NGOs. Through these strong partnerships, MENTOR is endeavoring to empower Angolans and ensure sustainable solutions.

The Way Forward

As the Angolan health infrastructure slowly redevelops, The MENTOR Initiative remains at the forefront of malaria control activities, implementing strategies that involve players from local to national levels. The MENTOR Initiative will press forward in its commitment, positively affecting change and equipping healthcare providers and the communities they serve with the knowledge and tools required to successfully combat malaria in Angola..
