Malaria Control in Emergencies Workshop
This one week workshop aims to increase the capacity of humanitarian partners at both field and organisational level to implement effective malaria control programmes with affected communities through better assessment and planning, surveillance, prevention, case management and targeted operational research.
Participants will master key competencies in all of the following sectors:
Context of Emergencies
Early Malaria Diagnosis
Malaria Case Management
Tools Interventions
IRS (Indoor Residual Spraying) Campaigns
Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LL-ITN) Distribution
Surveillance (ARGOS)
Shelter with Insecticide Treated Plastic Sheeting (ITPS)
IRS training, 45 centimetres
 
Who should take this course?
Field managers of humanitarian organisations, (NGOs, UN, donors)
Regional and HQ based managers of humanitarian organisations
National Public Health officials
Ministry of Health field teams
Commercial partners
Typical candidates for the course are Medical Co-ordinators, Health Co-ordinators, Programme Managers and District Medical Officers from international and national health organisations. Training in the refugee camps

The MENTOR Initiative maintains a pool of malaria specialists from which training teams are drawn for each workshop. They are leading international and regional experts with a wide variety of field experience:
