Base Coordinator Central African Republic

Position Title:  Base Coordinator – Position subject to funding
Base: Ouham Prefecture, CAR
Reporting to:   MENTOR Country Director (CD)
Duration: 7 months (June 2021 to December 2021)
Start date: 1st June (To be confirmed)

The Base Coordinator (Head of Base) is overseeing program implementation (community-based health care) in the Ouham Prefecture, as well as directly responsible for the management of the field base for all above mentioned MENTOR operations in North Western CAR. The Base Coordinator reports to the Country Director (CD) and works in close collaboration with the field medical coordinators. He/she is the direct line manager for all local staff members (of which some respond functionally to relevant program coordinators).

Job requirements

  • At least 2 years field experience as base coordinator or similar position
  • Familiarity with NGO working environments and standard procedures
  • Solid prior experience working in complicated security contexts an advantage
  • Knowledge of donor procedures
  • Experience working with SAGA is an asset
  • Organized and good coordination / management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in French
  • English language skills considered as an advantage
  • Team player
  • Proven capacity to train others
  • Flexible and willing to learn

Field Medical Coordinator Central African Republic

Position Title:  Field Medical Coordinator – Position subject to funding
Base: Ouham Prefecture, CAR

Reporting to:   MENTOR Country Director (CD)

The Field Programme Coordinator (FPC) is responsible for all the community health aspects of MENTOR’s operational respnse with emphasis on support to MENTOR supported Community based Healthcare Workers (CHWs) and health posts. Under the technical line management of the Health Programme Coordinator (HPC), he/she guarantees the quality management of the MENTOR programme in the area and contributes to the impact of the program as per donor agreements and logical frameworks through extensive monitoring and evaluation. His/her specific competence/specialization in regards to Maternal and Reproductive Health will be used to give technical and practical support to the health programmes in the missions.

Regional Health Coordinator

Position Title: Regional Health Coordinator
Base: Duhok, Iraq
Reporting to: Regional Manager

MENTOR seeks a Regional Health Coordinator (consultant) to oversee the implementation of leishmaniasis disease control and management services for IDP and host communities in Turkey and Northern Syria. The consultant will lead in the design, delivery, management and reporting of high quality leishmaniasis case management activities and operational research. They will be entrusted with the critical task of ensuring the programme achieves its case management objectives in accordance with the programme grants/awards and The MENTOR Initiative guidance/guidelines. The consultant will ensure the compliance of The MENTOR Initiative Emergency Response Programmes for all grant contract obligations to delivering health services and technical capacity building in line with the programme objectives and the changing context on the ground.

The consultant will report to Country Director (CD) in the following tasks:

  • Will assist in the design and planning for programmatic activity in Turkey and Northern Syria. This will include work in support of proposal writing to help secure new funding for this effort.
  • Will coordinate MENTORs medical and capacity building activities and serve as a MENTORs representative whilst developing and sustaining strategic partnerships
  • Will provide leadership, strategic direction and programmatic management for all medical activities in close coordination with CD and HQ Programme Manager (PM)
  • Will serve as the technical supervisor, and communications conduit, between medical teams in different regions
  • Providing advise as needed, and working collaboratively with the data, prevention, IEC and M&E teams to achieve the regional goals
  • Assist in the development of programme reports and proposals for new grant applications
